People Who Know is a web based app and a business directory of learning professionals. Built using Cake PHP the site has a dynamic search with members section, editable directory and account login. It’s a fully featured web app that runs smoothly, loads quickly and is easy to maintain. The branding was created by Alphabetical Studio with whom we worked closely on the site.
Mobile Responsive
The site needed to work flawlessly on all devices without losing any of the important features or the smooth look and feel. Business professionals using the site on mobile need to access all the tools and features. Searches on mobile devices account for more and more web traffic but can be frustrating for users. Filtering search results can be tough on mobile with the limited screen sizes but we put a priority on usability.
Site Features
A site with lots of features can still look great and perform smoothly. To make the process easy for users and encourage signups, login and account creation is supported by Facebook or LinkedIn accounts or by email. Search results can be fine tuned with filters and each listing has a detailed profile page with information, a gallery, ratings and reviews. Users can add providers to a shortlist and easily find and connect with learning professionals.
Content Management
The app is based on our BrightEdit system, which is developed using Cake PHP – a framework for building powerful, flexible web apps. Users experience fast web apps with a lightweight database.
