Working with Base Media, who designed the website, we developed the Daisywheel application for publishers CJ Welling. The app allows the user to create a magazine or publication online through an easy to use web-based tool. The user can then publish the magazine online or order printed copies.
The app is cutting edge, using brand new technology to enable a web-based tool to export as high-quality print-ready PDF, essentially cutting out the need for a designer or desk-top publishing software.
The system is built using PHP and MySQL for managing accounts and user data. The front-end editing tool is built using Flash for a real-time, accurate preview.
Base Media handled all of the front-end design for the Daisywheel project, leaving us to focus entirely on the programming and build. There are many technologies involved in the app, the most important being Flash, XML, PHP & MySQL.
